Sexual Erotic Tarot Deck

I ran a couples workshop last spring using the Next World Tarot because its bodies, bedrooms, and streetwear feel current, not like marble statues. It went really well. We used a ‘Desire Dialogue’ spread (Spark, Soft Limits, Shared Fantasy, Afterglow) and the imagery gave us language for consent and pleasure that didn’t feel old-fashioned or coy.

Quick tarot tip: the Devil will try to steal the mic, park them in the ‘Soft Limits’ seat and let Strength handle negotiations. Also, the Knight of Wands will definitely talk you into texting at midnight, so set your do-not-disturb first. If you want to dial up explicitness, I’ve had success layering the tarot with an indie NSFW photo-oracle from Etsy. Pull one oracle image to set tone, then let the tarot do the complex work. It kept everything sex-positive, contemporary, and real without sliding into camp or cringe.

You could make your own deck.

I’ve been doing some digital collage lately-mix photos with illustration or type to get the look you want. You can build an erotic deck with the modern, inclusive vibe you have in mind. Print at home on good card stock, or use a printer that does custom tarot decks. There are plenty online with nice finishes. It takes some time and a bit of money, but you keep control over the images.

I’ve had good luck on Etsy and found two decks that might fit what you’re after.

Sex Answers Oracle has a contemporary vibe with diverse representation and bold imagery. Erotic Sex Oracle (spelled that way) leans more artsy and highlights different kinds of intimate connections. Both feel current and inclusive. The artwork is explicit but tasteful.
