The Modern Witch deck finally made sense to me when you’re supposed to go with your instincts. The person who made it wants you to connect with the cards your own way. So if you think a card means something different from what the guidebook says, you’re not doing it wrong.
There are so many tarot decks now.
I saw a Nightmare Before Christmas one, a Wild Child deck, even something called Divine Purple Cat. Each deck interprets things differently, which used to confuse me. But experienced readers don’t seem bothered by this at all, they just grab whatever deck and go with it.
They mix RWS meanings with Thoth meanings with whatever else. Your Modern Witch deck is doing its own thing too. Maybe just roll with it? Like learning a regional dialect or something.
