Best Free Online Tarot?

There are sooo many garbage generators that just pull random cards and give vague descriptions. Is there anywhere that does a good tarot reading online, preferably for free?

Ideally, not any of these that you just click cards and get the meaning, I would like an actual reading. Video would be a huge bonus.

Thanks!

I know you probably already know this one, but Tarot Guru itself does free readings. Both video and handwritten.

For me, easily one of the best free readings around.

Also has a tool where you draw random cards but I get what you mean about those. I prefer the video readings myself.

Ugh, YES, the random generators drive me crazy too. Almost as bad as the scammy AI tarot sites.

  • +1 for Tarot Guru readings. Actual human readings for free.

  • Lotus Tarot has over 200 million readings, it’s one of the generator ones but probably the closest to actually being useful. Not super personalized but it considers the card positions properly which a lot of sites just… don’t.

  • For video readings tho, you might like YouTube Tarot readers. The whole Pick-a-Card format works really well - the reader lays out different piles and you intuitively pick one, then skip to that timestamp. Closest to getting a normal reading for free.

  • There are some readers who will do specific readings like this one for twin flames. Entirely free video and written spreads from a person but only for twin flames, they won’t do generic readings.

Hope that helps

Video readings are def the way to go if you want something that feels more real. On YouTube most tarot readings are ‘Pick a Card’ style - you’ll see a few piles of cards or crystals at the start, you pick whichever one draws you in, then skip to that timestamp. Some readers organize by zodiac sign instead.

Like most things with the Tarot, really depends on what you are looking for and what speaks to you.

CancerMoons Tarot does free readings for all 12 signs, plus some spiritual growth stuff. Queen of Cups Tarot has been reading for the signs monthly since 2016. There’s also Nicholas Ashbaugh, who does live streams - you can attend those on specific days and actually interact, which is nice. Pamela Georgel (Pam) started her channel a few years ago and has like 1600+ videos at this point. She does zodiac readings too if you wanna keep it simple and just go by your sign.

Honestly, the best way to find your reader is to just browse a bit. Read through the comments sections - people are pretty honest about what hit and what didn’t. Not every reading will resonate and that’s normal.

**Still a lot better than picking random cards on an app.**You’re getting readings from real Tarot readers.

For websites specifically, EvaTarot focuses on Major Arcana with the traditional Rider-Waite deck, which is solid if you’re still learning the cards. TellMyTarot has specialized spreads for different stuff, like love vs career vs general. They have a Yes/No option too if you need something quick (though whether you should ask yes/no questions is up for debate).

If you are going to use these types of sites, treat them like you would getting a real reading. Not something you’re just going to half pay attention to while driving or waiting for your coffee. Do them when you can take the time and really sit with your question before pulling cards and really mediate on the answers before moving on with your day.

Yeah… I never understand why people like these random “pick a card” generators. That is not a real Tarot reading, but I guess, because it’s all there is, it just becomes accepted that somehow it’s fine to use? You might as well flip a coin. There is no difference.

We should start another thread train for doing readings for eachother. Each person takes it in turn to do a reading for the last person that asked and then we ask a question for the next person to do a reading for.

Biddy Tarot has free readings - they are pretty bland but they are an option.

Moonlight Oracle on YouTube - that’s what you’re looking for

When I started using tarot for shadow work, I found that the Labyrinthos app feels different from most online options. It’s free and designed around learning the cards, but the daily readings prompt you to actually sit with the card’s meaning and journal about it. Might be better than the random generators you don’t like (which I understand).

It’s more about what’s stirring in your subconscious than prediction. If you’re open to guided self-reflection, it’s worth downloading.

Honestly, check out TikTok lives - readers do free readings for random commenters in real time. Way more personal than anything pre-recorded.

If you want a real reading from an actual reader focused on your question or situation, your best (and possibly only) bet is to get a practice reading. New readers need querants to practice, and you need to be patient with them and accept they’ll be a bit rough, but they get practice, and you get a free reading.

I’ve had pretty good results. Feels more like a full reading vs a pick a card video.

If you look for readers who post a photo of the entire spread and explain a few key combos, you’ll get something closer to the in-person experience.
