The Two of Cups shows up a lot in my readings about relationships. Not just romantic ones either, I’ve pulled it for people dealing with family issues, therapy relationships, even self-acceptance stuff.

I’ve been noticing this card tends to show up when someone’s about to get better at accepting love from others. They’re usually good at giving it, but taking it is harder.

Oh man, I really like pulling The Sun. Everything just feels lighter when that card shows up in a reading.

The World is another good one to see. It’s a kind of validation that things are working out. The 10 of Cups and 10 of Coins are great too. 10 of Cups is all about emotional fulfillment and family stuff, while 10 of Coins is more about financial stability and building something that lasts.

These four cards usually make me feel better about whatever situation I’m reading for.

The Wheel of Fortune speaks to me more than any other card. When it comes up in readings, I know it’s time to take a break from everyone and everything. I’ve gotten pretty into it, have a tattoo of it, and use it for all my profile pictures. My friends think I’m obsessed, but whatever.

The Star is great too. Something about that card just makes me feel better about things.

I always focused on the Major Arcana cards, but Seven of Pentacles keeps showing up in my readings lately and it always seems to be a positive message.

I think my favorite card changes over time though.

Before a reading, I set a “green flag” card-mine is the Four of Wands as the win marker. If it shows up, I take it as a real sign of progress.

Been doing a bunch of Mirror-Medicine-Message spreads lately. When The Sun shows up in Medicine, the reading usually takes on this different energy. People seem to respond to it more.

The Star works best in the Message position from what I’ve seen. Death as the Mirror card is interesting too - usually means someone’s already deep into some kind of change. They just don’t know how close they are to being done with it.

I always reach for The Star when I need some optimism. That card just gives me this feeling that everything’s working out. At our tarot circle last month, someone got The Star as their outcome and you could see everyone relax a bit.

It’s funny how one card can change the whole vibe. My weekly group has started joking that we should just hand people The Star when they’re having a bad week.

My tarot teacher likes the 6 of Swords a lot. She calls it her ‘fresh start’ card. I’ve started to like it too.

There’s something hopeful about those swords in the boat, carrying you away from rough waters to calmer ones. Makes me think about how sometimes you just need to move on. My mentor has this saying (‘you can’t fill a cup that’s already full.’)

This card kind of shows that. You make room for new things by letting go of old stuff.

Love the Nine of Pentacles - it’s all about that self-sufficiency vibe. Whenever it pops up in the Celtic Cross (especially spots 4 or 6), I get this feeling like someone from the past is trying to tell me something about standing on my own.

Did a reading for a friend last week who wants to quit her office job. When this card showed up, we both got chills - her grandmother used to grow herbs and had this whole medicinal garden thing going. It was like she was right there with us.

Since then, I’ve been keeping some lavender I dried myself near my cards. There’s something about this card that brings you back to basics - making stuff yourself, trusting what you can build.

I appreciate the idea that every card has value, but I’d argue some cards are more welcome than others.

  • The Sun almost always brings joy and clarity.

  • The Star gives you hope and healing, kind of like the universe is looking out for you.

  • The Tower or Ten of Swords can offer lessons, but getting The World or Ten of Cups feels way better.

These cards have positive energy that shifts everything. It’s okay to have favorites and celebrate when those cards appear.

  • The Ace of Cups overflowing with love

  • The Empress radiating abundance

Yes, every card matters, but some cards are like finding $20 in your pocket.

I like when the Two of Cups shows up. For me it carries that soulmate vibe more than The Lovers.

The Hanged Man is another one I pay attention to. In my readings, it shows up right before a big shift, so I just note it.
