Got Judgement in the “who is this person” position yesterday and I’m stuck. The reading was about someone new at work who’s been really intense to deal with.
Is Judgement usually someone who pushes you to level up? Or someone who’s judging you in the traditional sense? The imagery on my deck shows people rising from graves, which seems dramatic for a coworker, but the energy kind of fits. They definitely make me feel like I’ve been sleepwalking through my job.

The moon’s waxing toward full right now and your reading has me thinking about wake-up calls.
That Judgement card always reminds me of a trumpet blast. Like when someone has one of those voices that stops you in your tracks. Your coworker might be bringing that kind of energy to work lately.
I pulled Judgement once when I was asking about my old piano teacher, who suddenly came back into my life after 15 years.
She showed up at a coffee shop I was at, and within five minutes of talking, she’d basically called out every way I’d been playing it safe musically. It was uncomfortable but exactly what I needed to hear. With Judgement, the angel with the trumpet is calling everyone to rise up and see the truth.
When it shows up in a ‘who is this person’ position, I read it as someone who triggers that awakening moment in you.
They’re the catalyst. Your coworker sounds like they’re playing that role - making you see you’ve been sleepwalking through work. That’s Judgement energy. Even if it feels intense in the moment, there’s something freeing about it.
Yeah, Judgment and Justice people are different. Your coworker probably has that effect because Judgment types stir up deeper stuff - like they’re pushing you to look at your life purpose or whatever.

Sorry if this seems indirect, but I think Judgement can act like a mirror sometimes, rather than showing who the person actually is.
They might be reflecting something back at you. This coworker could be bringing up your own internal stuff, the part that evaluates if you’re doing enough at work. Are they making you question whether you deserve recognition?
Do they make you think about your career path? When you’re around them, do you start comparing yourself to some standard you didn’t realize you had? The rising-from-graves imagery fits here. This person might be triggering something in you. Their presence could be activating your own judgment about yourself.
You mentioned feeling like you’ve been sleepwalking through work… that’s pretty typical when Judgement shows up. The card often comes up when we’re ready to take a hard look at ourselves. So this person might be less about their personality and more about what they bring up in you, your own self-evaluation stuff.
Your coworker really does sound like the Judgement card come to life. They’re basically that loud wake-up call that forces you to pick, either keep doing what you’ve always done or actually make some changes at work.
The way they’re making you look at all your old work habits while also pushing you toward something different is pretty much what that card is about. Looking back and moving forward at the same time.
The Judgement card doesn’t always mean someone’s criticizing you. Sometimes it’s about closure and forgiveness.
In a workplace, this could mean someone shows up right when an old way of doing things needs to end. They might be there to help switch between phases, not stick around forever.
If their presence brings up shame or old anxieties, the card’s asking you to integrate those feelings, not beat yourself up.
Take care of yourself and approach any ‘review’ with some self-compassion. If you get Judgement reversed around this person, watch out for projection or scapegoating. Keep good records. You might want to pull some clarifying cards, asking what needs to be released or where forgiveness is needed.
If Judgement shows up as a person, I usually see it as someone who brings change whether you want it or not.
Your coworker sounds like they have that Judgement energy, they’ve done their own work and now they’re just. there. Making you aware of stuff you’d rather ignore. These people move differently. They think through everything before acting, which is why they seem slow to make decisions. They’re weighing everything out.
Once they move though, that’s it. I get why it feels intense. When someone’s already figured out their stuff and you haven’t, it’s uncomfortable. Like looking in a mirror you didn’t ask for.
