Tarot Reading During a Thunderstorm

Had an interesting experience today…

I think we’re all attuned to certain elemental energies but thunderstorms have to be the most patently obvious one. It’s quite literally visible energy.

I was giving a client a Tarot reading this afternoon when the most insane thunderstorm started. I had just gotten the Elemental Power deck (thanks to this post) and right away just kept pulling air and lightning cards.

Synchronicity, party of two, please.

I think it creeped out my client a little at first but I was enthralled and worked with her. I don’t often let external factors become a part of my readings but I’ll be keeping an eye on thunderstorm alerts in the future.

Storm energy is great but waiting for real storms sucks. I use thunderstorm apps when I need that energy. The sounds work just as well for meditation and intuition work. You get all the thunder and rain vibes without having to wait for weather.

storm readings tend to pack more punch the weather definitely affects the vibe of the cards.

People think thunderstorms only amp up negative readings, but that’s not true.

Yeah, they increase energy, but they can bring real clarity and insight too. It’s like how rain clears the air afterwards. Some of my best readings happened during storms, really peaceful, clear messages came through. If there’s a storm coming, definitely try doing a reading. The results can be pretty amazing.

Really interesting how your Elemental Power deck reacted to the storm like that. I keep seeing The Tower come up when there’s thunder and lightning. Something about the electrical charge and that sudden change in the atmosphere that the card seems to connect with. Your client feeling unsettled beforehand makes total sense.

Both storms and Tower energy do the same thing, they blow away all the stuff we tell ourselves and force us to see what’s actually there.

I’m curious how storms could influence the way we interpret water or earth cards, aside from just air.

i’ve tried those storm soundscapes and idk, they’re missing something. real thunderstorms have this energy you can feel through your whole body that recordings just don’t capture

Something I learned the hard way, you gotta set boundaries during storm readings. That energy can hit you like a truck if you’re not careful. Now I make sure to cleanse everything beforehand. Light a candle, grab a grounding crystal, whatever works. Makes all the difference.

Fun fact about Napoleon, his fortune teller Mademoiselle Lenormand had this whole thing where she’d wait for thunderstorms to read his cards. This was back in 1791 in Paris. She literally thought the lightning strikes were necessary to see his real destiny. sitting there waiting for thunder just to get your cards read?

That’s such perfect timing with those cards. Air and lightning during a thunderstorm, the deck was basically just reflecting what was happening outside. Makes sense when you think about it. The energy was already there in the room.

Really interesting about the Elemental Power deck and all those air cards! My grandmother who taught me tarot used to say thunderstorms increase Swords energy - which tracks because they’re already the most intense cards in the deck.

During storms I always seem to pull the tough ones like Defeat or Sorrow. Almost like the atmospheric electricity pulls those buried energies to the surface. I bet your client was picking up on something real. Storms definitely make those air element messages stronger.
