My friend showed me this adorable Hello Kitty tarot deck and now I’m obsessed. The problem is, we can’t find it anywhere online. Starting to wonder if it even exists officially or if it was someone’s custom creation?
Been searching everywhere for Hello Kitty tarot cards but coming up empty. Has anyone seen an actual Hello Kitty deck for sale, or is this one of those things where I need to make my own? Would even settle for something similar with that cute Sanrio vibe. Help a girl out!

I don’t think there’s an official HK deck, but I won’t leave you hanging.
If you want to do Cartomancy (note: this is not technically a Tarot deck, but you can use it in the same way), then there is a Hello Kitty card deck you could use.
Playing cards! Use for Cartomancy but not the usual Tarot!
Not quite what you’re looking for? Then we go a little off-brand, but the same look. These are actual Tarot cards… just not quite the brand. So cute though.

Or my other suggestion, cute minimalist Kawaii style which might fit what you’re looking for, even if it’s not all kitties:
Oh man, this deck has quite the backstory!
The artist made these gorgeous Sanrio cards without getting permission, and of course had to stop selling them when the copyright holders caught on. I get it, as someone who does watercolor stuff, I totally see why you’d want to reimagine these characters.
But there’s a reason this deck disappeared so fast. The rarity thing is super tempting, I know. We all want those impossible-to, find decks in our collections. But buying bootlegs of an already sketchy deck just keeps the cycle going, and that ends up hurting actual tarot artists. There are tons of indie creators making original decks that could use the support instead.
Why not put that collector energy toward something without all the ethical mess?
A lot of Indie Tarot decks have this same problem. If they don’t have the proper licence they might get pulled from the market (happens all the time on Etsy).
Pulled some cards for your Hello Kitty deck situation. Seven of Pentacles and The Star came up, which is actually a great combo so you might find something off the beaten track. The Star showed me lots of pink and white, so that’s a good sign for the Hello Kitty vibes. The cards are saying to put together a vision board while you wait. You could screenshot pics from that deck your friend has. I’ve found that getting really specific with what you want helps, especially with collectible stuff like this.
Here’s a little-known fact: in Japan, kawaii culture actually originated from Buddhist concepts of innocence and purity, which might explain why Hello Kitty’s simplicity creates such powerful spiritual connections in readings. I recently came across this artist who transforms blank decks into adorable Sanrio-inspired designs, the process itself becomes a meditative ritual that infuses your personal energy into each card.
Just a heads up, an official Hello Kitty tarot deck probably isn’t happening anytime soon.
Sanrio’s really picky about who they let use their characters. Could be years before we see one, if ever. I’d keep checking collector groups and tarot forums though. That’s where you’ll hear about any rare decks or new stuff coming out.
girl same!
been searching everywhere for hello kitty tarot everything i find is either handmade etsy stuff or sketchy prints from overseas. kinda sucks there’s no real official deck i’ve thought about DIYing one, just get blank tarot cards and go crazy with hello kitty stickers. or maybe pay someone to design it but that gets pricey fast if you want something similar, kickstarter has some kawaii decks that might work? not the same but still pretty cute for readings
I have the Kawaii deck, which is close to the vibe, but I’ve also used those playing cards to do readings.
You can make up tarot meanings for each card or just have fun with informal readings. It’s a simple way to satisfy your Hello Kitty tarot cravings while you track down a real set.
Oh man, I went through the same thing looking for Sanrio tarot decks! Searched for months thinking there had to be official ones somewhere.
Turns out most character-themed decks are made by independent artists or people who DIY them. If you’re really set on having one, you could always commission an artist. There’s tons of people on Etsy who do custom tarot decks, might be worth checking out if you want something unique.
The way Hello Kitty tarot cards are seen in different parts of the world is super interesting.
Japan has this whole kawaii culture thing going on, so mixing cute characters with spiritual practices feels totally normal there. It’s like they found a way to make tarot feel less intimidating and more approachable.
Meanwhile, in the West, we’re still pretty attached to our traditional tarot designs. So these Hello Kitty decks end up being this cool fusion, you’ve got Eastern pop culture meeting Western mysticism all in one place.
How about creating a digital Hello Kitty tarot deck with some design software? You can personalize each card and print them whenever you’re ready. Sounds fun, right?
So you’re after the Hello Tarot (aka Hello Kitty Tarot)! Yeah, it’s been out of print forever and there are knockoffs everywhere now. Reproductions are all over eBay and Etsy if that works for you.
For an original though? You’ll need to check tarot trading communities. People do sell their copies sometimes but you gotta be patient. The Hello Tarot’s got such sweet, uplifting vibes that really come through when you’re centered. Hope you find the perfect one.
I love how Hello Kitty brings people together! Making your own cards sounds really fun - you can put your own spin on them and make them special.
why you want a Hello Kitty deck so badly? There might be something deeper there. The hunt for the perfect deck can be just as fun as actually finding it tbh.
Sanrio’s been really strict with licensing lately.
I’ve been collecting vintage sticker sheets for years and the difference from the 90s/2000s is huge. You might like the Pusheen Cat Tarot deck? Official license and super cute. Or just make your own, blank tarot cards are cheap and you can decoupage old Hello Kitty stickers on them. Could be a fun project.
So, I came across someone selling Hello Kitty tarot cards a while ago, but they were unofficial copies and ended up getting shut down. It kinda makes you think if buying bootleg decks really keeps the true spirit of tarot alive, right?
